Patient Education: Medical LinksSports MedicineOur clinic has been in the forefront of sports medicine and cutting edge knee and shoulder surgery for over 25 years. Dr. Harbin was the first in the state of Kansas to start arthroscopic ACL reconstructions in 1981. Many of our surgical techniques for shoulder and knee surgery are not offered by any other clinics in the state.We have been involved in numerous research projects and have published articles on the knee examination, determination of elite athletic potential of young athletes. Some of the research has involved professional NFL teams. We are presently directing a multi-institutional research project to allow a safer return of athletes who have sustained head injury. We presently are the team physician for Bethany College, Kansas Wesleyan University and Cloud County Community College as well as numerous high schools. This vast experience is important to anyone considering being evaluated or treated for their sports injury whether it is from high school sports, college sports or from a recreational sports injury.
